Apple could face a multi-billion dollar fine for violating antitrust laws

Apple Inc. could be fined tens of billions of dollars for violating the EU’s Digital Markets Act by not allowing App Store developers to freely inform users about alternative payment options outside the Apple ecosystem, Engadget reports. The European Commission can fine a company up to 10% of its global annual revenue if it is found guilty, and in the event of repeated violations, penalties can be up to 20% of its global annual revenue.
