IBM introduces AI-powered emissions tracking solution for resource-intensive sectors

IBM announced Maximo Emissions Management, a new AI-powered solution designed to help companies in asset-intensive industries such as energy, industrial, transportation and construction track, manage and report on their emissions.

The new solution is part of a range of new capabilities added to the IBM Maximo suite of intelligent asset management software.

According to IBM, the new solution enables companies to track and manage operational continuous and fugitive emissions. The solution provides an operational dashboard that allows users to access information on current environmental incidents, such as fugitive emissions caused by leaks, report incidents, explore improvement opportunities, access information on the CO2 impact of incidents and track progress.

By integrating with IBM Envizi’s ESG data collection, analysis and reporting platform, the solution also supports operational emissions and sustainability reporting, according to IBM.

In a post announcing the new IBM Maximo features, Kendra DeKeyrel, vice president, ESG and Asset Management product leader at IBM, said:

“With the help of innovative AI-powered technology, enterprises can extend the life of their assets and improve productivity and reliability, while reducing costs and accelerating decarbonization.”
