Phillips 66 achieves full conversion of Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex to renewable fuels | News

Phillips 66 announced the complete redevelopment of the Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex, which will allow for the expansion of commercial-scale production and an expanded renewable fuel offering.

The Rodeo facility, located in the San Francisco Bay Area, is designed to produce renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), among other products. In addition to supplying California markets, the complex supplies renewable diesel to other areas along the West Coast. The company increased rates to about 50,000 barrels per day — or 800 million gallons per year — meeting its goal of reaching full capacity by the second quarter of 2024.

The Rodeo complex includes new pre-treatment units that process lower carbon intensity feedstocks such as used cooking oil, fats, greases and vegetable oils. It began producing approximately 30,000 BPD of renewable fuel at the end of the first quarter of 2024.
