The Odisha government on Thursday approved investment proposals worth Rs 903.41 crore in the renewable energy (RE) sector, according to an official statement.

The Department of Energy’s Single Window Committee (SWC), headed by Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, has approved investment proposals aimed at achieving the state’s RE target of 10 GW by 2030.

The panel approved HPCL Renewable & Green Energy Ltd’s proposal to build a 48 MW wind power project at Umerkote in Nabarangpur district, while ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd received approval to set up a 49.5 MW wind power project at Astaranga in Puri district – said in the statement.

The total investment in these two wind power projects is Rs 881.28 crore, the company said.

So far, the Department of Energy SWC has approved investment proposals worth a total of Rs 3,723.57 crore and a capacity of 499.48 MW in the sector.
