NIIT appoints Pankaj Jathar as CEO

NIIT Limited, a player in skill and talent development, has appointed Pankaj Jathar as its new Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect. Pankaj replaces Sapnesh Lalla, who is moving to a non-executive director position at NIIT Ltd, while continuing as CEO of NIIT Learning Systems (NIIT MTS).

As NIIT focuses on the growing skills and career landscape in post-partition India in 2023, Pankaj Jathar’s appointment marks a pivotal moment. Brings extensive experience from consumer-facing sectors, including e-commerce, startups and direct-to-consumer ventures

Pankaj has over 25 years of experience in global corporations, starting as a management trainee at NIIT and later making significant contributions at Tata Interactive Systems, London. A stint at Accenture as a Solution Architect in the banking and finance sector further enriched his knowledge.

He also played a key role in the launch of Amazon India and went on to lead Prione, Amazon’s joint venture with Catamaran, serving as CEO from 2020.

Pankaj completed his BE from the University of Pune, went on to GNIIT, Pune and obtained his MBA from IIM Calcutta in 1998.
