NBA Admits Rare Error in Golden State Warriors Game

Last night, the Golden State Warriors opened the NBA season against the Portland Trail Blazers in a one-sided affair in favor of the Warriors. The final score was 139-104 Warriors.

Last night’s game was also the Warriors debut for Buddy Hield, who did not disappoint with 22 points on 66% shooting. While Hield was the talk of the game, his new teammate De’Anthony Melton was the subject of a very strange confession by the NBA.

In an official announcement, the NBA officially stated that they made a mistake on one of Melton’s free throws, which changed the final score of the game.

“With 2:00 left in the third quarter, De Anthony Melton (GSW) accidentally missed two free throw attempts when he actually made 1/2. As a result, the final score was changed to Gold. State 140, Portland 104.”

Fortunately for the Warriors, this mistake didn’t come close to changing the outcome of the last game, but it was very strange to see something like this. Fortunately for the Warriors, the mistake occurred in a game where the scoring margin was very wide and had no impact on the final score.
