Raleigh-based e-commerce tech firm acquired by Intuit Mailchimp

Earlier this week, Amped founder Matt Cimino announced that his company had been acquired by Intuit Mailchimp.

Cimino, a serial technology entrepreneur, did not disclose the exact size of the deal but called the acquisition a “significant investment.”

“We are excited about what we can achieve by joining a company with a market capitalization of $184 billion,” he added.

Amped is a pop-up tool created in 2022 for the e-commerce industry that offers customizable email and SMS templates.

Cimino announced the acquisition on July 1 on LinkedIn, posting a video detailing the acquisition and changes for current customers.

The Amped team is based in Raleigh, Wilmington and Greece, and Cimino said the entire team will become part of the Intuit Mailchimp organization.

Amped forms and popups will soon be available exclusively in Intuit Mailchimp.

“I am incredibly grateful and believe it is a great success for the North Carolina business community to have secured another deal of Intuit’s size,” Cimino said.
