The Reconstructed Device can be found after Void Intercept boss fights or after completing Void Fusion Reactor missions. Void Intercept can be accessed via nodes in the lower left corner of the Main Sector map, while Void Fusion Reactor missions are found throughout the playable areas of the game.

There’s usually one in each sector, marked with an icon that looks like a golden vortex. You’ll need to destroy Void Fragments to be able to trigger them, as you’ll need special Void Shards to use each reactor. Each elemental Void Fusion Reactor mission will give you a different set of Void Fragments.

The Reconstructed Device looks like a strange globe with a green zigzag pattern and will be marked on the screen with a green icon. It will exist in this area for a limited time before disappearing, giving you about four minutes to get to it and use it because it disappears.

How to Use a Restored Device in The First Descendant

To use the Reconstructed Device, simply interact with it and you will be given a list of the corresponding Amorphous Materials that you can open from your inventory. It is important to note that some materials, bosses, and Fusion Reactor missions are related. You cannot simply open any material after a random boss fight. To see which fights you need to complete to get the corresponding device to open the material, examine the Amorphous Material in your inventory.

Each Amorphous Material will contain a specific loot pool consisting of weapon parts and descendants, and these parts can randomly drop when the pool is opened.

Once you have selected a material, use the Shape Stabilizer if you have it to increase your chance of getting specific drops from the Amorphous material. Shape Stabilizers are rare drops that you can get from specific missions. They are also tied to specific Amorphous materials.

Shape Stabilizers are useful if you’re trying to get very specific pieces to build something you want. If you want to know what the materials contain or what materials you need for specific Descendants, visit Anais in Albion, as all of this can be learned from her menu.

The process of finding and using reconstructed devices and maximizing their potential is as follows:

  • Visit Anais to learn what amorphous materials will be needed to create descendants and weapons.
  • Complete the appropriate missions to obtain amorphous materials
  • Complete Void Intercepts and Void Fusion Reactor missions to open them with a Reconstructed Device dropped by bosses
  • At this point you can use the correct Shape Stabilizer if you have it to increase your chance of getting rarer Amorphous Material items.

The First Descendant is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, and Steam.
