Anchorage residents will have a chance to learn what Mayor Suzanne LaFrance’s transition team has planned for the city’s priorities and share their thoughts at an open house Tuesday.

An open house is scheduled for Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wilda Marston Theater at the Loussac Library, 3600 Denali St., the mayor’s office said in a statement. A presentation with brief remarks will be held from 5:30 to 6 p.m.

LaFrance’s 18-member transition team — which includes prominent nonprofit and business leaders as well as former elected officials — is focused on three broad priorities, which they described as “good government,” “safe streets and trails” and “building our future.” Subcategories include areas such as economic development, unsheltered homelessness and shelter planning, improving public safety, child care, energy and housing, among others, the mayor’s office said.

The groups tackling these priorities have been working to refine their vision, assess current challenges and conditions and develop an action plan, the mayor’s office said.

According to the statement, open day attendees will be able to “learn more about the process and provide feedback on the findings.”

LaFrance was sworn in on July 1 and has made several major appointments throughout her administration, including Becky Windt Pearson as city manager, Sean Case as Anchorage police chief, Bill Falsey as chief administrative officer and Katie Scovic as chief of staff.
