KP government issues guidelines on fiscal discipline

According to the letter, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the rules and regulations on fiscal discipline.

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has sent a letter to all departments and institutions to ensure financial discipline during fiscal year 2024-25.

According to the letter, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved rules and regulations on fiscal discipline.

The letter said the prime minister may ease the ban on a case-by-case basis with regard to the creation of posts. The letter also said that the purchase of ambulances, fire trucks, tractors, buses and machinery, as well as vehicles, will be banned.

The letter said participation in workshops, seminars and training abroad at government expense will be prohibited. Medical treatment abroad at provincial government expense will also be prohibited, the letter said. Contracts of project workers should be extended in consultation with the Department of Finance, the letter said, adding that no appointments should be made to fill vacancies without prior approval of the Department of Finance.
