Google Play Store makes it easy to view app ratings for different devices

Google has made a lot of changes to the Play Store in the recent past. The Play Store now displays app ratings for various apps in the App Market, with dedicated icons to distinguish different devices, including tablets and Chromebooks.

Dedicated buttons, when tapped, show ratings for different devices. However, it looks like Google will soon be rolling out a new fix that will make it easier to view app ratings for different devices.

According to the latest APK Teardown post (via Android Authority ), code sleuth AssembleDebug has discovered a new app ratings feature. The new feature was spotted in the Google Play Store app version 41.7.16-31, which shows app ratings by different form factors.

Currently, the Play Store displays app ratings for a given device when you tap on a dedicated icon, such as a phone, Chromebook, tablet, etc. However, with a new change spotted in the latest beta version of the Play Store, app ratings are displayed alongside the dedicated device buttons. This means that the new change eliminates the need to tap on the device buttons or chips to view the ratings for a given device.

This may not be a huge change, but it’s a welcome tweak that saves the user a few taps and a few seconds. The ratings are located next to the device’s chip, and you can tap another device to find out the app’s rating for it. Keep in mind that this feature was spotted in the beta version of the Play Store app. This means that it’s not available to all users.

Moreover, the feature has been spotted in the Teardown APK. So, it is not clear whether Google will make this feature available in the future or not. Google may remove the fix and leave it as is.

Let us know what you think about this new change in app ratings on the Play Store and would you like Google to roll out this feature to all users?
