TymeBank has appointed Karl Westvig as its new CEO, with current CEO Coenraad Jonker set to move to the role of chairman of the board with responsibility for the broader Tyme Group.

The changes take effect from 1 October 2024 and mean Jonker, who moved from group CEO to local CEO of TymeBank in mid-2022, replacing Tauriq Keraan, will focus on driving growth for the international digital bank in new markets, which currently include the Philippines, Vietnam and soon Indonesia.

Westvig, who served as CEO of SME lender Retail Capital when it was acquired by TymeBank in 2022, is now CEO of TymeBank’s retail and business banking operations.
