In short

  • Apple has released iOS 18 beta 3 to testers enrolled in the developer program.
  • The beta could potentially include some of the announced Apple Intelligence features, such as Siri integration with ChatGPT.
  • Those interested in the public beta can expect it to launch as early as next week.

Apple officially unveiled iOS 18 last month, bringing a redesigned home screen, Apple Intelligence, RCS support, and more. Since then, the company has been testing pre-release versions of the upcoming operating system update with developers and enthusiasts, aiming to iron out bugs and optimize performance ahead of a public launch in the fall. iOS 18 beta 3 is now available for those enrolled in Apple’s developer program, and it could include some of the announced AI features.

What’s New in iOS 18 beta 3

We installed iOS 18 beta 3 on an iPhone 15 Pro Max to find out what new additions it includes. In addition to the usual bug fixes and minor improvements, this beta could include some Apple Intelligence features, such as native ChatGPT support. After all, the company has said that it will begin testing AI features this summer when the iOS 18 public beta launches, and the developer beta 3 should have the same build number as the public beta 1.

Once we’ve thoroughly tested this release, we’ll confirm what noteworthy features it brings.

Beta 1 and 2

iOS 18 betas 1 and 2 brought a wide range of new features, including a revamped Home screen with app icon dimming, a customizable Control Center, RCS, iPhone Mirroring support, improved FaceTime Screen Sharing, and more. Since many of the announced additions weren’t included in these builds, we expect future iOS 18 betas to implement them.

How to install iOS 18 beta 3

We advise against installing the iOS 18 beta on your primary iPhone, as the software is still buggy and unpredictable. Instead, you can wait for the public beta, which is due out next week, as any issues with the package should be resolved by then. If you have a spare iPhone, you can download the third developer beta of iOS 18 by following the steps below:

  • Join the Apple Developer Program. Simply sign in with your existing Apple account and accept the terms; there’s no need to pay the $99/year fee.
  • Go to Settings app on your iPhone.
  • Go to General > Software update > Beta Updates.
  • Choose iOS 18 Developer Beta option.
  • Back to main page Software update and wait for beta 3 to appear.
  • Click Download and install button.
  • Leave your iPhone connected to a power source until it starts up.
