Amazon Launches All-New Echo Spot for Prime Day

Amazon has added a new model to its lineup of Alexa-enabled devices: Echo Spot, a sleek and customizable smart alarm clock that offers a variety of custom-designed clock faces and fun colors.

Designed to sit on a bedside table, the device features a display with a smooth backlight that makes it easy to set and view alarms, check the time, weather and song titles, and a directional speaker for clear sound.

Echo Spot is now available in Black, Glacier White or Ocean Blue for £79.99, but Prime members can get it for just £49.99 while supplies last, on the occasion of Prime Day.

Echo Spot: An Interactive and Personalized Display

Customers love asking Alexa for information—in fact, Alexa responds to multiple requests every millisecond, and users ask Alexa for the weather, set a reminder, or set an alarm tens of millions of times every day. Echo Spot offers a variety of custom-designed clock faces, new visual animations, and fun colors that make it easy to see the answers to these requests at a glance.

Just ask Alexa to set alarms on your Echo Spot by saying something like, “Alexa, set a weekday alarm for 7 a.m. with an alternative to 90s music.” Or wake up to one of four new custom alarm sounds—Northern lights, Dawn, EndeavorAND Flutter. And if you want to sleep in a little longer when your alarm goes off, just tap Echo Spot to snooze. You can also ask Alexa for the weather to see the temperature, as well as an image — like the sun, a rain cloud, or a snowflake — that appears on the screen.

You can even customize the Echo Spot display to match your bedroom aesthetic. Choose from six different color themes—orange, purple, magenta, lime, teal, and blue—or mix and match colors with different clock faces.

The new visual display also shows song titles while music is playing. To skip songs, just ask Alexa or quickly tap the display. The all-new Echo Spot also has quick volume buttons on the top—or you can ask Alexa to turn the volume up or down.
