SBM and Technip Energies launch floating wind farm

SBM Offshore and Technip Energies have founded Ekwil, a 50/50 joint venture for floating offshore wind (FOW).

The aim is to offer a diverse range of FOW solutions adapted to series production in order to meet the needs of energy customers worldwide.

Ekwil, based in France, combines Technip Energies’ INO15 semi-submersible vessel and SBM’s Tension Leg Float4Wind platform.

The company employs a team of 40 specialists who are supported in the implementation of projects by SBM/Technip Energies.

CEO Séverine Baudic was previously Managing Director of New Energies & Services at SBM Offshore. COO Willy Gauttier was previously Vice President of Floating Offshore Wind at Technip Energies.
