Apple Releases iOS 18 Developer Beta 3 for Supported iPhone Models

It’s been two weeks since the last iOS 18 beta, and Apple has released iOS 18 developer beta 3 for users to test. Apple has also released iOS 18 beta 3 release notes, detailing bug fixes and changes added to the update.

If you’re interested, you can download the latest beta on a supported iPhone model to get a preview of upcoming apps and features. To install the build, make sure you’re enrolled in the Beta Program or Developer Beta Program.

Go to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap on “Beta Updates” and select “iOS 18 Developer Beta” from the list. Please note that developer beta updates are mainly for developers, so they may be full of bugs and have unexpected consequences. So, it is recommended to be cautious and back up all your data before installing.

Apple unveiled the iOS 18 update at WWDC earlier this year. So far, the Cupertino giant has introduced several previously rumored new features in two developer betas. You can try out the new Passwords app, dark home screen mode, new wallpapers, T9 dialer, game mode, flashlight customization, Wi-Fi password sharing, digital power button, and iPhone app locking.

The company also talked about its suite of “Apple Intelligence” AI features that will work across the ecosystem. It includes writing tools that let you proofread documents, summarize, and rewrite multiple versions. You’ll be able to transcribe recorded conversations, limit interruptions, and prioritize emails and notifications, among other things.

However, the latest iOS 18 Developer Beta will likely not include any of these features. Apple previously said that Apple Intelligence features “will be available in beta as part of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia this fall in English in the U.S.” Meanwhile, Apple’s major Siri update is expected to arrive in beta in 2025.
