JKTPO supports local entrepreneurs through e-commerce recruitment campaigns

Kulgam/Kathua, July 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) continues to support economic growth in the region by successfully implementing e-commerce campaigns in Kulgam and Kathua.

These initiatives, organised in partnership with county administrations and e-commerce players, aim to promote local products and educate entrepreneurs on the benefits of selling online, allowing them to expand their business worldwide.

At Kulgam, DC office, the event was attended by over 200 entrepreneurs including women entrepreneurs, retailers, artisans, exporters, growers and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs). The event facilitated the registration process for 50 participants on the spot and the rest initiated the registration process.

Sessions led by industry experts highlighted the benefits of e-commerce platforms, underlining JKTPO’s commitment to supporting local exporters and facilitating market access.

Dr. Bashir Ahmad Lone, CEO, District Industries Centre Kulgam, highlighted the key role of digital commerce in business growth, citing the benefits of joining e-commerce networks. The event included informative presentations on platforms like GeM and insights on GST compliance by Maqbool Shah and Gulzar Ahmad Mir, respectively.

The event in Kathua, Ghatti Industrial Area, was attended by 80 people, including representatives of handloom and handloom (H&H) sectors, self-help groups (SHGs), fabric organisations and manufacturers.

GM DIC Kathua, Prem Singh, along with representatives from GeM, ONDC and JKTPO facilitated discussions on e-commerce integration strategies. Thirty participants were successfully onboarded, contributing to the economic diversification efforts of the region.
