Transpacific Air Cargo Trade – Is the Best Yet to Come? China Air Cargo Panel Reveals.

The pandemic, disruptions to container shipping, and geopolitics have long had a major impact on air cargo volumes moving across the Pacific from Asia to North America. However, the trans-Pacific air cargo market is set for a busier summer than usual, and the final quarter of the year could see even stronger demand for air cargo due to factors such as disruptions to ocean freight services in the Red Sea, a still-resilient U.S. economy, and the e-commerce boom from China. However, when it comes to air cargo demand, Asia continues to lead the pack, followed by North America.

At the Air Cargo China and Transport Logistic China trade fair and conference in Shanghai, STAT Media Group editor Reji John moderates a panel discussion on air cargo trade on the transpacific route and learns from speakers whether things will go well after the pandemic.

The panel, which included industry experts Kathy Liu, General Manager of Shanghai Air Freight and Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Dimerco; Joanna Li, Executive Director of Commercial and Business Development at Hactl; Alvin Tay, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Asia Pacific at Atlas Air; and Sean Dolan, General Manager of NorthLink Aviation, discussed and debated the trends shaping demand growth and the challenges that accompany them.
