Sector moves: Foreign investors continue to hover around UK corporations

British corporations continued to be targeted by foreign groups at the start of the week.



According to Insider InsuranceJapanese company Sompo and Italian company Generali were considering submitting a bid Hiskoks.

Analysts also searched for names of people involved in retail trade Genuity Canaccord began analyzing 10 retail stocks operating across multiple channels, primarily with “buy” recommendations.

“The pandemic and related inflation have proven to be a challenging time for both retailers and consumers,” it said in a research note sent to clients.

“However, the outlook is looking brighter, with some signs of easing pressures on the cost of living finally emerging, which is expected to help support the recovery in consumer confidence and consumer expectations of a more positive outlook for their personal financial situation over the next 12 months.”

On the other hand, precious metals mining companies gave back some of the gains from last Friday.

This was triggered by the release of weaker-than-expected nonfarm payroll data in the US in June.

There were also some positive geopolitical headlines over the weekend.

In the Gaza Strip, a Hamas representative reportedly signaled that the terrorist organization was ready to withdraw one of its key conditions, which until now had prevented the conclusion of a ceasefire agreement with Israel.

Meanwhile, in Iran, reformist candidate Masoud Pezeshkian won the presidential election.
