Rapidly growing real estate agency completes another acquisition

Lomond continues to focus its growth strategy on the East Midlands with the acquisition of its 58th estate agency in just three years.

The company, one of the UK’s largest acquirers of estate and letting agencies, has announced further expansion into the East Midlands with the acquisition of Acquire Sales and Lettings, an agency with offices in Derby, Burton and Chesterfield.

The East Midlands has become a key focus for Lomond as it continues to pursue an aggressive growth strategy which has already seen it complete four acquisitions in the East Midlands.

Lomond previously acquired the Royston and Lund rental property portfolio in Nottingham and Derby, and shortly afterwards acquired a significant rental property portfolio from Centrick and Nottingham-based agent Tassi Sales and Lettings.

The latest acquisition of Acquire Sales and Lettings brings further investment to the East Midlands and adds around 700 properties to the John Shepherd managed Lomond brand.

The existing business will now operate under the John Shepherd brand, under the leadership of trusted CEO Richard Crathorne.

However, Crathorne was quick to heap praise on his management team – director of operations and property management Chris Blick, director of leasing Jack Spellman and director of sales Katie Ridley – who have all played a key role in shaping the John Shepherd brand story to date and who continue to be integral to the brand’s future growth ambitions.

John Shepherd Chief Executive, Richard Crathorne, commented: “The East Midlands has been a key focus for our expansion of the John Shepherd brand and my leadership team have played a key role in helping us deliver the business’ ambitions to date.

“We’ve come a long way and with a series of significant acquisitions we’ve made recently, it’s safe to say we’re just getting started.

“We are extremely excited to welcome the Acquire Sales and Lettings team to the John Shepherd brand and the wider Lomond family and look forward to continuing to strengthen the brand with buyers, sellers, landlords and occupiers across the East Midlands.”

Lomond CEO Ed Phillips added: “Our latest acquisition of Acquire Properties means we are acquiring another high-quality business in the East Midlands and this will only help to fuel the momentum our John Shepherd brand is building across the region.”
