Wisconsin Attorney General Wants Better Ghost Gun Laws

State Attorney General Josh Kaul is pushing for more regulations and laws on concealed weapons, saying he wants common sense rules.

A Ghost Gun is a homemade firearm that can be assembled without a background check.

According to Brady Campaign, there are online kits and individual parts available, and some items can even be 3D printed.

Temporary firearms have been used in murders and school shootings.

Kaul said, “They should be regulated as firearms under federal law, but the Supreme Court will consider those arguments a little bit earlier this year, in the Supreme Court term that just ended. The court threw out the bump stock ban, so I’m certainly concerned that the court could throw out that sensible regulation, but we’re going to fight it.”

This comes after the Supreme Court struck down the Chevron doctrine, which limits the authority of subject matter experts and leaves decision-making to the courts.

Kaul says this could have implications for firearms regulation.
