Students from Lviv Innovate: Device Allows Disabled People to Use Gadgets

The Feel Touch team from the Novoyavorivsk Vocational School won a bronze medal at the European Youth Entrepreneurship Festival Gen E in Italy, the Lviv Regional State Administration reported.

Competing against 40 projects from across Europe, the team developed an innovative device that helps disabled people control gadgets. The device is designed for people with hand injuries, paralysis or upper limb amputations, allowing them to use phones, TVs, tablets and laptops without the need for a solid surface underneath. Control is possible thanks to spatial movement. This development represents a significant breakthrough in assistive technology.

Students — Roman Khomyk (CEO), Oleksandr Tarasiuk (CFO), Liubov Sloboda (Production Director), Khrystyna Paliuk (Marketing Director) and Veronika Khimyak (Sales Director) — participated in the “Company” program of Junior Achievement Ukraine, and later took part in the project “Business Skills for Economic Growth” of JA Ukraine and #Skills4Recovery. They won the National Youth Entrepreneurship Competition, which gave them the opportunity to represent Ukraine at the European Youth Entrepreneurship Festival Gen E in Italy.

Andrii Turak, JA Ukraine Development Director, emphasized: “The third place for the Ukrainian team is an incredible achievement. It has never been seen before that a country that has been part of the Junior Achievement network for only two years has secured a place in the award.”

Working with the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration and vocational and technical education institutions in Lviv and other regions, the Junior Achievement social organization creates excellent opportunities for Ukrainian youth to start their own businesses.
