Patrons at a Teesside pub have been hit by a controversial new dress code which will see a number of “designer” fashion items banned from the premises.

The Wobbly Goblin, located in Stockton-on-Tees, outlined its strict new dress policies on its Facebook page on Sunday evening.

In a comprehensive list, the Durham boozer has banned a host of designer items such as Christian Louboutin and Ugg boots.

Tattoos were also included, with tattoos on the head, neck and face all leading to refusal of entry for potential customers.

Other banned fashion accessories included bubble sneakers, large rings and chains and a ban on flip-flops.

The Wobbly Goblin in Stockton-On-Tees announced a controversial new dress code this weekend, banning items such as UGG boots and vests.

Ugg boots are one of the most popular fashion items on the Wobbly Goblin’s banned clothing list.

With almost 500 comments so far under the pub’s original Facebook post, many customers have reacted angrily to the policy change.

One person commented that they “used to go here after work on a weekend many years ago and the best part was the nervous people in there!” Other users added “nice look with that” and “that’s hilarious.”

Another person said: “Can all our customers stop coming please. Wouldn’t that have been easier to type?

Many users took aim at the stipulation regarding tattoos in particular, with many calling it “discrimination.”

A woman with a neck tattoo commented under the post: “Good luck staying open! I’m laughing out loud because of the tattoo! I have a neck tattoo, it doesn’t make me a bad person, just be happy I never come back with that attitude.

Other banned clothing included “big boss logos”, “vests” and the installation of “big down jackets” in the locker room.
