Apple is expected to launch a desktop robot with Apple intelligence

Apple is making a splash in artificial intelligence (AI) for the home. Forget about updating your HomePod or Watch—Apple’s first home device with new “Apple Intelligence” technology will be an entirely new product: a smart robot friend on your table, according to a new report from Bloomberg.

Apple Launches Desktop Robot with Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence is launching later this year, but only on newer iPhones, iPads, and Macs. That means Siri’s super-powerful features won’t be available on your current devices like the HomePod or Watch (at least not yet). There have been rumors of a smarter HomePod, but it sounds like Apple has something even cooler in mind.

News of the week from Gizchina

Technology expert Mark Gurman explains: “People who are counting on Apple Intelligence technology in their smart home devices will have to wait for the robot I’ve been talking about for some time.”

Back in April, Gurman first hinted at Apple’s plans for the robot. This tabletop robot appears to be the most advanced they’re working on, but it’s still early days. Here’s what Gurman shared:

“Apple is also making a special desktop robot with a screen that can move. This screen can even track head movements during video calls, just like nodding in real life. It can also track one person during a busy video conference.”

It makes sense that older smart home devices won’t get Apple Intelligence right away. They might not be powerful enough to handle all the AI features. We’re also not sure what’s happening with the rumored HomePod with a screen – hints of code surfaced just a week ago. The company may still be working on it, but the robot seems to be the primary focus right now.

There aren’t many details yet about this exciting new robot, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments!
