OCCI North Al Batinah Branch Discusses Challenges Facing Commercial Sectors

Suhar: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in Al-Batinah North Governorate discussed the plans of the sectoral committees and their role in addressing the issues facing the trade sector, as well as ways to meet the aspirations of the business community in the governorate.

A meeting on the matter was held in Sohar on Tuesday under the auspices of Eng. Said Ali Al Abri, chairman of the OCCI branch in North Al Batinah province.

The meeting focused on preparations for events that will be held in the last quarter of this year (2024), including two business forums. The first, titled “Reconstruction Horizons Forum,” will focus on the mining industry. The second will be the 6th GCC Businesswomen’s Forum.

The meeting approved conducting trade missions in the last quarter of 2024 (to increase trade and investment volumes), exploring other countries’ experiences (in the food security, industry, real estate development and mining sectors), organising in-country visits to OCCI offices (to enhance cooperation and communication, exchange experiences and successful practices) and discussing common challenges facing the trade sector.

The meeting approved proposals to establish partnerships with a number of government institutions and private enterprises with the common goal of better serving citizens.
