SRG Expands Equestrian Opportunities with Carriagehouse Acquisition

Specialist Risk Group (SRG), an insurance intermediary, has acquired the existing Carriagehouse business.

Established over three decades ago, Carriagehouse plays a key role in supporting the equestrian industry by offering a wide range of specialist products including horse and donkey insurance, horse trailers, carriages and harnesses and commercial carriages.

Additionally, the Carriagehouse offering complements SRG’s existing equestrian business, KBIS, which joined forces with the company in January 2021.

Lee Anderson, Deputy Chief Executive of SRG Group, commented on the acquisition: “This is a fantastic opportunity for SRG and reinforces our commitment to investing in specialist sectors in the UK and internationally. KBIS are leaders in the equestrian industry and the addition of Carriagehouse Book will enable them to support a more diverse customer base in this specialist sector.”

Fiona Gordon-Clarke, Director of Carriagehouse, said: “I am thrilled with this agreement and look forward to continuing to support our Carriagehouse customers as they transition to KBIS. It is important to me that our customers continue to receive the high level of service and specialist insurance they expect. The synergy between our teams and the comprehensive range of rider insurance products that KBIS offers, in addition to those developed by Carriagehouse, will ensure this in the future.”

In recent months, SRG has made a number of acquisitions in the sector.

If you recall, in early July the company acquired political violence prevention firm Tristar Special Risks, and in late June it also agreed to acquire insurance broker Strategic Insurance Services Limited (SISL), subject to regulatory approval.
