Dothan welcomes new cold storage company, latest in chain of acquisitions across southeastern U.S. | WDHN

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) – Vertical Cold Storage, a developer and operator of temperature-controlled distribution centers, has made the decision to purchase and acquire a frozen food distribution center from Dothan Warehouse.

“We are confident that vertical coolers will continue the success of our deep-freeze business.
distribution center,” said Turner Jones, president of Dothan Warehouse. “We trust West and his team to take care of our customers and employees as they always have. This move means our facility will continue to grow and improve, and that’s really important to us.”

The Dothan facility has more than 109,000 square feet, 10 docks and is located just off major interstate highways, which allowed the previous owner to offer same-day delivery.

The plant primarily ships poultry and other proteins to ports in Jacksonville, Florida, Mobile, Alabama, New Orleans, Louisiana, Panama City, Florida, and Savannah, Georgia.

“This latest acquisition demonstrates our commitment to the protein industry and building a nationwide network of high-capacity frozen and refrigerated storage facilities,” said West Hutchison, president and CEO of Vertical Cold Storage. “We look forward to supporting the many great processors and retailers in the region and welcoming members of the Dothan team on board.”
