Numa Group continues dynamic growth with acquisition of Native Places

Hospitality brand Numa Group has acquired short-term rental company Native Places for an undisclosed amount.

The UK-based aparthotel brand, which was previously part of Native Holdings, has more than 800 units in cities including London, Manchester and Edinburgh. Native Residential will continue to be run as part of Native Holdings.

The acquisition of Native Places comes on the heels of Numa’s purchase of Yays in late 2023. Last year, Numa also announced it had raised $59 million in Series C funding.

In a statement, the company said the latest acquisition “complements the Numa philosophy.”

Christian Gaiser, Co-Founder and CEO of Numa Group, formerly known as Cosi, said: “Our mission is to redefine the hospitality landscape, adapting it to the demands of today’s consumers. We are at the forefront of digitalising and elevating the entire travel experience, constantly looking for innovative ways to deepen the connection between our guests and their preferred destinations. Our goal is to be a leading player in major cities (UK), with London being the number one hospitality market in Europe. With Native Places, we will have access to a very strong brand recognised by leisure and business travellers.”

Olivia Immesi, current CEO of Native Places, who continues to hold a position at Numa, said: “Native Places has become a leading operator of lifestyle and serviced apartments in the UK. We are thrilled to be joining Numa as they expand their presence in the UK. I am incredibly excited to continue to lead the Native Places brand as it joins a rapidly growing European technology-led serviced apartment platform, creating one of the largest serviced apartment platforms in Europe.”

Numa Group said it has real estate assets worth €2 billion under management and, including Native Places, manages more than 7,300 rooms and apartments in 34 major cities in 14 European countries.
