FRIENDS OF THE GUELPH PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Friends of the Guelph Public Library extends its sincere gratitude to all participants and volunteers who made their 16th annual book sale a resounding success. Over four incredible days last month, the community came together to raise over $95,000 for the Guelph Public Library. This year’s sale saw over 5,000 shoppers purchase 55,000 items from our well-curated assortment including books for all ages, puzzles, games, DVDs and vintage books.

This event could not have happened without the dedication and hard work of over 250 volunteers, who spent countless hours planning, sorting, organizing and working together to create a welcoming atmosphere for Guelph’s book lovers and the greater surrounding region. Their commitment to supporting this fundraising effort and enriching the community is deeply appreciated.

The Friends would also like to thank everyone who attended the sale. The enthusiasm for books is obvious and the resulting atmosphere makes you envious of other events. It’s just a bonus that with all of these purchases, the Friends will be able to continue to support the Guelph Public Library in its vital role in providing essential resources and programs to the Guelph community.

This year, the Bamco group intervened at the last minute to save this year’s sale from probable cancellation. Looking forward to next year, we hope to be able to offer another fantastic sale! We are always looking for the perfect large space for this event.
