Alcon loses motion to dismiss antitrust claims in contact lens case

Eye care giant Alcon Inc. will face antitrust charges in a lawsuit alleging it conspired to fix the price of disposable contact lenses sold in the U.S.

Plaintiff Lens.com presented evidence that Alcon prevented it from selling Alcon-branded lenses by forcing consumers to choose more expensive options, Senior Judge Harvey E. Schlesinger of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida said in an order Tuesday denying Alcon’s motion to dismiss the case.
