‘Breakfast Club’ radio host hits Donald Trump with cease-and-desist order

It seems Charlamagne Tha God is tired of former President Donald Trump’s campaign ads, especially when they sample his voice.

The famous radio personality has issued a cease and desist order regarding Trump campaign advertising, according to several media outlets, including Vibe and The Express Tribune.

The ad in question attacks Vice President and Trump presidential opponent Kamala Harris’ stance on funding surgeries for transgender prisoners with taxpayer dollars.

A clip from Charlamagne Tha God was used in Trump’s ad, showing the radio show host discussing the topic and expressing his disapproval of the position.

The 30-second ad used the New York Times bestselling author’s remarks in a recent episode, where he can be heard saying, “(expletive) no, I don’t want my tax dollars used on that. »

The clip is from an episode of his show, in which he acknowledged the effectiveness of a Trump ad in getting his message across.

“I’ll tell you, that ad that aired during the football games this weekend saying the vice president supported funding gender transition surgery for all detainees and migrants in the United States was crazy. ” he said at the time.

“I don’t know if it was the football backdrop, but when you hear the narrator say that Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners, that line made me go, ‘Damn, no, I don’t want my taxpayers’ money. I’m going to that.’

“This ad was effective. He literally says Kamala supports taxpayer-funded gender reassignments for prisoners, and he talks about how, you know, she supports funding gender transition surgeries for all detainees and migrants in the United States. This ad had an impact,” he added.

Apparently upset that his image and voice were used without his approval, the radio personality has since issued a legal notice to Trump demanding the immediate removal of portions of the campaign advertising that include his voice.

“Cease and desist from being sent. Since when does Trump care about what’s legal? » he announced in response to the negative reactions he received due to these misleading remarks.

In the past, Harris has advocated for transgender detainees and immigrants in ICE custody to have access to necessary medical services, including gender transition surgeries. She also said these procedures constitute a “medical necessity” for those who rely on state care.

“It is important that transgender people who rely on the state for their care receive the treatment they need, which includes access to treatments associated with gender transition,” Harris told the ACLU in 2019.

“I support policies that ensure federal prisoners and detainees can obtain medically necessary gender transition care, including surgical care, while incarcerated or detained,” she continued. “Bridging treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to provide bridging treatment.”
