NoiseFit Origin Review: A Big Focus on Style

The NoiseFit Origin is the latest premium smartwatch from the brand. As you might expect, the company is known for regularly introducing options in the budget segment; one thing that made the NoiseFit Origin stand out was its price. It costs a lot more compared to other NoiseFit offerings. It surely has to have something that proves its worth, right? On paper, the smartwatch boasts of features like the EN1 processor, a new user interface (UI), improved touch functionality, an AMOLED display, and a premium design – all of which play a key role in delivering a great smartwatch experience. But is that just on paper, or does it translate into real-world usage?

My initial impressions of the smartwatch were positive, barring a few niggles related to the accuracy of some of the health sensors and the overall call quality. After spending a month with it, I was able to delve into every nook and cranny. In fact, the Origin NoiseFit will be a very attractive option, especially for those who prioritize design and style.

The NoiseFit Origin smartwatch is priced at Rs 6,499 in India. It comes in one size with two strap options: leather and silicone. It comes in six color options: Classic Black, Classic Brown, Jet Black, Midnight Black, Mosaic Blue, and Silver Grey. I got the Mosaic Blue version with a silicone strap for review. Apart from the smartwatch, the box included a user manual and a magnetic charging cable.

NoiseFit Origin Design and Display Review: A Decent Deal

  • Display – 1.46 inches, AMOLED
  • Housing material – Stainless steel
  • Ingress protection – IP68 (up to 3ATM)

Design is always a touchy and highly subjective topic. Despite that, the NoiseFit Origin is one of the better-looking smartwatches in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment. It features a round dial, stainless steel casing, and a rotating crown. While the latter lacks the tactile feel of the digital crown on the Apple Watch, it proves to be useful and not just a cosmetic addition. Everything is placed on the right side of the smartwatch, meaning left-handed people like me can operate it with ease. The button on the side can also be programmed for a few functions. These touches give the smartwatch a subtle, premium look without feeling ostentatious.

You can also easily swap out straps, with additional strap options available for purchase on the brand’s website. The silicone strap that comes with the smartwatch is comfortable, even in the (currently) humid weather in Delhi. The back of the NoiseFit Origin houses all the necessary sensors and two metal pins for magnetically attaching the charger. Thankfully, the metal pins don’t touch the skin, which is often a problem with other smartwatches.

The NoiseFit Origin has a 1.46-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466×466 pixels, a refresh rate of 60Hz, and an Always-On Display. The viewing experience is crisp with vivid colors and adequate brightness levels, although there’s no auto-brightness feature. While the bezel is quite thick, it’s slightly raised, exposing the glass to regular wear and tear. However, it didn’t pick up any scratches during our testing period. As for durability, it has an IP68 rating and promises water resistance of up to 3 ATM, with the latter proving its worth by keeping the smartwatch safe during sweating and even heavy rain.

NoiseFit Origin Review Performance: Promising

  • Processor – EN1
  • Software – Nebula UI
  • Battery – 300mAh

With NoiseFit Origin, Noise has introduced two new technologies: the EN1 processor, which promises fast performance, and Nebula UI, which claims to offer more features than its other, albeit less exclusive, siblings. The user experience is fluid in most cases without any noticeable lag.

Like other smartwatches, the NoiseFit Origin has a variety of gestures, including Raise to Wake and Cover to Sleep. Swiping right brings up different health monitoring charts — swiping down opens notifications, and swiping up opens the quick actions window. While most of these sections are easy to navigate, the notification panel needs a bit of work, as multiple notifications can make it difficult to use. Gestures for silencing calls and taking photos with a flick of the wrist also work quite well.

As you might expect, there are a lot of health and fitness tracking options. These include step tracking, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, and SpO2, which has become a staple even in today’s budget smartwatches. While the former is fairly accurate, the latter two are unreliable. Interestingly, a smartwatch must include GPS and an accelerometer. One of the most used features I found during the review period was Rapid Health. It’s a one-stop solution for monitoring multiple health metrics with just one tap.

Bluetooth calls work well indoors, but there’s no background noise cancellation outdoors. And while the smartwatch lets you answer WhatsApp calls, it strangely doesn’t show the contact’s name.

Pairing the NoiseFit Origin with your smartphone is easy, even for those with an iPhone. There’s a NoiseFit companion app available on the App Store that lets users set watch faces, turn on Bluetooth connections, check health metrics, and even set SOS contacts. The Step Streak feature even prompts users to complete step goals and earn coins and badges.

The smartwatch promises up to seven days of battery life, and it almost manages to achieve that, lasting six days on a single charge with AOD turned off. However, turn AOD on, and that’s just two days. The charging cable attaches magnetically to the back of the smartwatch and can charge it to 100 percent in two hours. But the charger easily slips off with a little movement, meaning you’ll have to be careful plugging the watch in at night if you want it to be fully charged to go out in the morning.

NoiseFit Origin Review: Verdict

With a high-quality design, a decent UI (that works with a functional crown), and a host of health features, the NoiseFit Origin ticks all the boxes for most budget smartwatch hunters. While it lacks a few notable features like GPS, an accelerometer, and auto-brightness, it does offer a number of features that improve the overall user experience. However, when it comes to reliable fitness tracking, this isn’t the one to go for.
