Gujarat signs landmark agreement to digitize logistics sector

New Delhi: In a bid to strengthen the logistics sector and streamline the movement of goods across the state, Gujarat officials have signed an agreement to digitise the logistics sector through the use of Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), a PIB press release said.

The agreement was signed by Rajat Kumar Saini, Director General and Managing Director, NICDC, Banchha Nidhi Pani, Director General, GIDB and Rajesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

The collaboration aims to provide real-time insights into key logistics parameters such as shipment tracking, vehicle utilization, infrastructure availability and transit times. This will help improve coordination across state departments and streamline government decision-making.

Gujarat ULIP Dashboard will be developed by Logistics Data Services Limited (NLDS) which aims to provide a comprehensive tool to empower stakeholders in the government and private sectors. It will be integrated with various state departments ensuring continuous flow of information.

The panel is part of the government’s initiative to leverage technology and innovation to drive progress in the logistics sector. This collaboration is expected to play a role in strengthening the digital transformation of the logistics sector and streamlining the movement of goods across Gujarat.
