Police have urged the public to help search for a Mossel Bay father and daughter who were last seen more than a week ago.

Jacob Mare and his nine-year-old daughter, Yaleen Mare, were last seen on October 14, according to Western Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg via IOL.

He said preliminary information suggests that that Monday, Jacob picked up his daughter from her school in Hartenbos and they have not been seen since.

He said the Mossel Bay Child Protection and Domestic Violence Sexual Offenses Unit is seeking the public’s help in locating them.

Police shared photos of the father and daughter in hopes someone saw them.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two men is asked to contact investigating officer Warrant Officer Alistair Rezant at the Mossel Bay FCS Unit on 082 234 3557 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

More than a week has passed since they were last seen alive, and the situation is becoming increasingly alarming, often an indication that something may have gone wrong.
