Nevada Sustainability Summit showcases clean energy and sustainability solutions from public and private sector leaders

Nevada’s public and private sector leaders gathered for the Nevada Sustainability Summit: Upping the Game. The event highlighted initiatives and pathways to strengthen the state’s economy by addressing sustainability challenges such as climate change, water scarcity and energy demand. Against the backdrop of a nationwide surge in clean energy investment, Nevada is clearly on the rise starting in the summer of 2022, benefiting from more than $14.5 billion in new clean energy investment and projected to create more than 20,000 new jobs. The Nevada Sustainability Summit serves as a platform to celebrate these accomplishments and explore future opportunities to promote the state’s sustainable economic growth.

“Nevada is at the epicenter of global sustainability solutions, balancing its abundant natural resources with formidable challenges in climate, water, energy and air pollution,” said Mel Mackin, interim director of state policy at Ceres. “This unique position — as well as several major private-sector investments in the state to build clean technology — makes Nevada a key player in solving the planet’s most pressing challenges. The Nevada Sustainability Summit showcased the state’s ongoing efforts to grow its economy by addressing these challenges and further strengthening the partnership between public and private sector leaders to achieve these goals.”
