Syncwire Tire Pump

Key findings from ZDNET

It’s easy to ignore the little things that make a big difference. Like tire pressure. If your tires look round, they definitely are?

Evil.

Incorrect tire pressure can have a serious impact on fuel consumption and safety.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), maintaining proper tire pressure can save up to 11 cents per gallon of fuel and extend the average life of your tires by 4,700 miles. Saving money is certainly a positive outcome, but the importance of saving lives cannot be overstated.

NHTSA estimates that one in four vehicles has at least one tire that is significantly underinflated at any given time. Addressing this single problem could significantly reduce the nearly 11,000 tire-related accidents that occur in the U.S. each year.

That’s why it’s so important to have a portable and easy-to-use air compressor as part of your car kit. Not only is an air compressor useful for keeping your tires at the right pressure, it also serves a wider range of purposes. From inflating soccer balls to bike tires and inflatable boats, we often come across a variety of items that need inflating. And let’s be honest, relying on lung power can only get you so far!

I love this portable air compressor.

Next, the user interface on the compressor is clean and simple. The display is large and clear in both daylight and at night, and the buttons are clear and easy to understand. Again, the last thing you want to do when you have a tire problem is to have to find the manual to figure out your air compressor.

There are four different modes for inflating different items – cars, motorcycles, bicycles and balls – as well as a custom mode where you can set a specific pressure range.

The two 2600mAh batteries powering the compressor provide enough power to inflate a typical tire in about a minute, as well as enough charge to inflate about ten tires before needing to be recharged.

The air compressor also has a USB-A output, so you can use it as a power bank, and in case of emergencies at night, it’s worth getting a two-color LED diode.

The only downside to this air compressor that I can find is that there is no automatic way to deflate over-inflated tires. This is only a minor negative, but it is useful if you find yourself with the occasional over-inflated tire.
