Amazon sells ‘brilliant’ DIY Starbucks and Costa iced coffee kitchen gadget that could ‘save you a fortune’

Coffee lovers say they are “saving a fortune” thanks to a kitchen gadget that lets them make Starbucks and Costa-style iced coffees at home.

Whether you prefer your coffee hot or iced, this simple home system will have you brewing in minutes… and you won’t have to spend your hard-earned money.

The Breville Iced and Hot Coffee Maker has been reduced in price by 33% ahead of Amazon Prime Day and is now £44.99.

A medium-sized iced Americano at Starbucks costs around £3.55 depending on where you buy it, so if you buy one every day that works out to £24.85 a week and £99.40 a month.

At Costa, a medium-sized iced black Americano will set you back around £3.05, depending on where you buy it, so an everyday coffee will cost £21.35 a week or around £90 a month.

So even though a packet of Starbucks ground coffee costs around £4.50, a home system could save you money over the course of around two weeks.

The Breville system requires coffee lovers to fill a reservoir with water, add ground coffee, and then choose whether they want their beverage hot or cold.

Customers are impressed with the gadget, receiving a rating of 4.4/5 based on 1,988 reviews.

One happy customer said: “I’ve been using this little machine every day for almost two months now and I love it! Really easy to use, great results every time. Very pleased.”

Someone else added: “Love this – my son spends a fortune (of my money) on iced coffee so I bought this for him and he loves it.”

A third said: “Tastes just as good as the iced coffee from the coffee shop that I spend a fortune on. Definitely saves me money.”

Another added: “Tastes amazing, like you’d pay £5 for it in a cafe.”

However, not all reviews were perfect. Some customers noted that the device dripped, while others said the cup was difficult to clean.

There are several other iced coffee machines on the market, including Aldi’s Ambiano iced coffee machine, which was reduced in price from £19.99 to £12.99 last week.

Amazon also has a Drew & Cole iced coffee machine for £37.99 (at the time of writing), as well as cold brew coffee systems for around £20.

Before you make a purchase, remember to compare offers to make sure you are getting the best price on the market.

Keep in mind that just because there’s a promotion, it doesn’t mean you’ve saved money.

If you weren’t planning on purchasing this item, it’s not necessarily a bargain.
