India’s growing manufacturing sector creates more job opportunities than ever before: Report

Bengaluru, July 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) India’s manufacturing sector is booming, leading to an increase in job opportunities as the sector seeks new skills, according to a new report released on Tuesday.

Between June 2022 and June this year, India’s manufacturing industry grew by an impressive 40 per cent.

According to the latest data from global recruiting platform Indeed, the manufacturing sector is in a growth phase.

“As India strives to become a global manufacturing powerhouse, the sector offers a wealth of opportunities for businesses and job seekers alike,” said Sashi Kumar, Director of Sales at Indeed.

Some roles in the manufacturing sector are seeing rapid growth.

For example, CNC machine operators saw a staggering 160 percent increase in job postings.

CNC operators are qualified technicians who specialize in operating numerically controlled hardware and software.

They are followed closely by production managers with a 155 percent increase and machine operators with a 119 percent increase.

These roles are rapidly growing in importance, reflecting the modernisation of the sector and the increasing demand for specialist skills.

The skills landscape is evolving in tandem with the sector’s growth. Communication skills are now at the forefront, required in 17 percent of jobs.

“This is followed by CNC skills (10 percent), manufacturing skills (9 percent), English language skills (8 percent) and CNC programming (6 percent),” the report noted.

Manufacturing companies are also improving their offerings to better attract the most talented employees.

Employers are beginning to realize that offering comprehensive benefits not only increases job satisfaction, but also increases employee productivity and loyalty, the report says.

According to a latest IBEF report, the economic growth is being driven by several key factors: increased domestic consumption, government initiatives, a surge in global investments and increased global demand for goods made in India.
