Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Sugar Stocks Rise, Sensex Rising

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher at 9:59 am DCM on Tuesday. Shriram Industries Ltd. (up 4.27%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (up 2.90%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd. (up 2.57%), Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. (up 2.49%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd. (up 2.42%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (up 2.35%), Ponni Sugars(Erode) Ltd. (up 2.30%), Rana Sugars Ltd. (up 2.26%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. (up 2.23%) and Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. (up 2.03%) were among the top gainers.

The biggest losers included Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd. (down 5.03%), Mawana Sugars Ltd. (down 0.44%) and KM Sugar Mills Ltd. (down 0.19%).

The NSE Nifty50 index was up 45.55 points at 24,632.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 154.66 points at 80,819.52 around 9:59 am.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (up 2.2%), Coal India Ltd. (up 2.16%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (up 1.98%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (up 1.45%), Infosys Ltd. (up 1.39%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (up 1.1%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (up 1.03%), Tata Steel Ltd. (up 0.98%), Adani Enterprises Ltd. (up 0.9%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (up 0.75%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, shares of Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 1.39%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (down 1.21%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (down 0.89%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (down 0.68%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (down 0.63%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (down 0.62%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (down 0.61%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (down 0.57%), NTPC Ltd. (down 0.5%) and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 0.48%) were trading in the red.
