Southeast Asia e-commerce gross merchandise value grows 15%

(DealStreetAsia) — The total gross merchandise value (GMV) of the eight leading e-commerce platforms in Southeast Asia increased by 15% to $114.6 billion in 2023, according to the Southeast Asia E-commerce 2024 report by Momentum Works.

In 2022, Southeast Asia’s e-commerce GMV reached US$99.5 billion, half of which was accounted for by Shopee. In 2023, Shopee achieved US$55.1 billion in GMV and maintained its market share at a steady 48%. Lazada and Tokopedia recorded GMV of US$18.8 billion and US$16.3 billion, respectively.
