The Minister of Public Enterprises intends to strengthen partnerships with the private sector and foreign investors

Mohamed Shimy, Minister of Public Enterprises, received Mariam Khalifa Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League. The meeting focused on exploring possibilities for closer cooperation, with the participation of Sami Al Noqbi, Head of the Economic Affairs Section of the UAE Embassy in Cairo, and several senior officials of the ministry.

Shimy emphasized the special nature of Egypt-UAE relations, noting the strong, brotherly and historical ties between the two countries and peoples. He expressed great interest in strengthening and deepening cooperation in various fields.

The Minister emphasized that the portfolio of companies under the ministry includes significant and important industrial entities. Numerous modernization and development projects are implemented in various sectors in order to develop these industries, localize modern technologies, deepen local production and achieve added value.

Shimy outlined the many investment opportunities available in the ministry’s companies in various sectors and types of businesses. He reaffirmed the ministry’s openness to strengthening partnerships with the private sector and local and foreign investors, in line with the State Ownership Policy Document. He welcomed the various types of partnerships that bring benefits to all parties and emphasized the government’s commitment to overcoming any obstacles that investors may encounter and facilitating the implementation of their projects.

Al Kaabi pointed out that Egypt has the potential to become an attractive investment destination thanks to its strategic geographical location. She highlighted the interest of many UAE companies in increasing their investments and expanding their operations in Egypt.
