Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Fertilizer Stocks Fall, Market Rising

NEW DELHI: Fertilizer stocks ended higher on Tuesday with Sikko Industries Ltd. (up 5.00%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd. (up 2.73%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd. (up 2.58%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. (up 0.83%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd. (up 0.73%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (up 0.72%), Agro Phos India Ltd. (up 0.43%) and Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. (up 0.35%) among the top gainers.

Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. (down 1.57%), Madras Fertilizers Ltd. (down 1.56%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd. (down 1.48%), Rama Phosphates Ltd. (down 1.44%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd. (down 1.06%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd. (down 0.98%), Coromandel International Ltd. (down 0.86%), Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd. (down 0.83%), National Fertilizers Ltd. (down 0.73%) and Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (down 0.56%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the day up 26.3 points at 24,613.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed 51.69 points higher at 80,716.55.

Coal India Ltd. (up 2.96%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (up 2.67%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (up 2.61%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (up 2.39%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (up 2.02%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (up 1.54%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. (up 1.37%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (up 1.15%), Infosys Ltd. (up 1.12%) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (up 0.95%) were among the top gainers on the Nifty.

On the other hand, Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 2.39%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 2.19%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (down 2.08%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (down 1.48%), NTPC Ltd. (down 1.35%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down 1.33%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (down 1.32%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (down 0.51%), Cipla Ltd. (down 0.45%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down 0.44%) ended in the red.
