Limerick Travel has announced the acquisition of online booking platform B&B Ireland.

According to a company statement, the move will enable Limerick Travel to offer a wide range of services to overseas clients and trade partners.

B&B owners and B&B Ireland customers are assured of a smooth transition and the platform will continue to operate under the B&B Ireland brand.

Peter Brazil, Managing Director of Limerick Travel, said the decision opens up new opportunities for the company.

“We are excited about the opportunities this acquisition creates for Limerick Travel,” said Mr Brazil.

“By combining our strengths and expertise, we are well-positioned to drive the business and further develop the B&B travel product for years to come, leveraging over 50 years of platform development experience.”

Helena Healy, CEO of B&B Ireland, said the acquisition would ensure overseas guests would continue to use Irish bed and breakfast providers for many years to come.

“For the B&B sector and B&B Ireland members, this development secures the future of international trade and ensures that consumers visiting Ireland can continue to enjoy this unique product which is an important part of the Irish tourism experience,” said Ms Healy.

B&B Ireland was founded 52 years ago and has been promoting B&B accommodation in Ireland ever since.

Limerick Travel was established in 1971 and has been providing inbound and outbound tourism for over 50 years.
