85 new flights subject to bomb threats today: 20 Air India, 20 IndiGo, 20 Vistara and 25 Akasa receive threats

In a series of bomb threats made against Indian airlines, a combined 85 new flights from Air India, IndiGo, Vistara and Akasa faced new threats on Thursday. The list includes 20 Air India, 20 Indigo, 20 Vistara and 25 Akasa flights.

An Akasa Air spokesperson said some of its flights operating on October 24 had received security alerts.

“Akasa Air emergency response teams are monitoring the situation and are in contact with safety and regulatory authorities. We are following all safety and security procedures in coordination with local authorities,” said the spokesperson in a statement.

These flights include domestic and international routes.

Earlier Tuesday, more than 55 flights from these four airlines received similar bomb threats, which later turned out to be a hoax. Over the past 11 days, nearly 250 flights operated by Indian airlines have received bomb threats.

Earlier this week, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said the government plans to take legislative steps to deal with cases of bomb threats against airlines, including registering perpetrators of such threats on the no-fly list.
