Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Mining Stocks Fall, Market Rise

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks closed Thursday’s session higher, among the biggest gainers.

Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd. (down 4.26%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd. (down 3.50%), MOIL Ltd. (down 3.49%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd. (down 3.31%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd. (down 3.12%), 20 Microns Ltd. (down 3.01%), Oriental Trimex Ltd. (down 2.75%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd. (down 2.63%), KIOCL Ltd. (down 2.04%) and NMDC Ltd. (down 1.96%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the day up 187.85 points at 24,800.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed 626.91 points higher at 81,343.46.

LTIMindtree Ltd. (up 3.5%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (up 3.29%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (up 2.81%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (up 2.6%), Wipro Ltd. (up 2.42%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (up 2.38%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (up 2.28%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (up 1.92%), Infosys Ltd. (up 1.86%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (up 1.86%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints Ltd. (down 1.45%), Coal India Ltd. (down 1.41%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (down 1.37%), Grasim Industries Ltd. (down 1.26%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (down 0.95%), NTPC Ltd. (down 0.71%), Adani Enterprises Ltd. (down 0.55%), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 0.43%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down 0.36%) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (down 0.35%) ended in the red.
