Anthropic releases Claude app for Android

Anthropic launched its Claude Android app on Tuesday to bring its AI chatbot to more users, making it easier for Android users to access the chatbot without having to rely on its web application.

The AI assistant, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, like every other AI, is designed to make your life easier. However, what makes it stand out from other AIs is that it uses a constitutional AI technique which makes it adhere to human-written principles and the human-like feel in its interactions.

The Claude Android app will work just like the iOS version released in May, including free access to Anthropic’s best AI model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, which has been ranked second out of 115 models on the LMSYS Chatbot Arena with over 1.4 million votes.

Anthropic unveils a more powerful iteration of its Claude chatbot to challenge OpenAI

In a move amping up the competition in the large language model (LLM) space, Anthropic unveiled the latest iteration of its Claude large language model (LLM) family – Claude 3.5. Debuting with the Sonnet tier, as the Claude 3.5 Sonnet, the model promises significant performance improvements across various benchmarks,

Users will be able to sync their conversations with Claude across devices and upload photos or files to the app for real-time image analysis. The Claude Android app also includes real-time language translation, which Anthropic hopes to be a convincing reason for people to open the app.

This launch might redeem Claude’s flop with the iOS app release, as it had 157,000 downloads in its first week trailing behind ChatGPT’s 480,000 installs in just five days.
