Regal Foods Enters Refrigerated Desserts Category with Acquisition of Love Cheesecakes

Yorkshire-based food group Regal Food Products Group has acquired artisan cheesecake maker Love Cheesecakes, strengthening the company’s presence in the chilled desserts sector.

Lancaster-based Love Cheesecakes specialises in handcrafting over 100 premium cheesecakes for the wholesale, catering and hospitality markets. The bakery also sells direct to consumer through event catering, festivals and e-commerce platforms.

“The acquisition of Love Cheesecakes further strengthens our chilled dessert offering, allowing us to offer our customers a robust offering across categories and price points,” said Younis Chaudhry, CEO, Regal Food Products Group.

Chaudhry said the company, with a catalogue of more than 100 products, will have ample opportunities for new product development, enabling it to offer “a whole new range of exciting flavours and combinations to both regular and new customers”.

The transaction is the latest strategic move by Regal to grow its desserts business, following the recent acquisitions of Just Desserts Yorkshire and Love Handmade Cakes.

“This acquisition opens an exciting new chapter for Love Cheesecakes, promising tremendous growth and innovation,” said James Asquith, founder of the bakery.

He added: “I am confident that with the experience and resources of Regal Food Products Group, the bakery will reach new heights, reach even more customers and continue to deliver the quality and values we represent as a company.”
