Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Mining Stocks Fall as Sensex Falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower at 9:59 am on Friday, with top gainers including Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd. (up 1.55%), Lexus Granito(India) Ltd. (up 0.72%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd. (up 0.52%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd. (up 0.21%) and Oriental Trimex Ltd. (up 0.19%).

Top losers included NMDC Ltd. (down 3.38%), Pokarna Ltd. (down 2.55%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd. (down 2.26%), 20 Microns Ltd. (down 1.73%), Coal India Ltd. (down 1.72%), MOIL Ltd. (down 1.59%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (down 1.54%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd. (down 1.46%) and KIOCL Ltd. (down 1.31%).

The NSE Nifty50 index was down 65.3 points at 24,735.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 121.77 points at 81,221.69 around 9:59 am.

Infosys Ltd. (up 3.42%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (up 0.98%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (up 0.95%), ITC Ltd. (up 0.86%), Asian Paints Ltd. (up 0.8%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (up 0.75%), Nestle India Ltd. (up 0.39%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (up 0.33%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (up 0.29%) and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 0.25%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (down 2.83%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down 2.32%), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 2.19%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 1.98%), Coal India Ltd. (down 1.81%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (down 1.78%), JSW Steel Ltd. (down 1.73%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (down 1.65%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (down 1.62%) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down 1.59%) were trading in the red.
