New FaceTec CLO Amidst a Flurry of Biometrics and Fraud Protection Visits

New directors were appointed by biometrics vendors FaceTec, Pindrop, and Fingerprint Cards, along with C-level appointments by Prove and Strata, a vice president at Proof, and a sales director at Cryptomathic. New chairmen and board members were appointed by Aisles, Identita, SDO, Facephi, Okta, and Plurilock, while Intellicheck is beginning its transition to a new CFO.

FaceTec hires external legal counsel

FaceTec has named longtime outside legal counsel Trevor Chaplick as its new chief legal officer and executive vice president of corporate development to support the market expansion of its facial biometrics and face liveness detection technology.

Chaplick leaves Greenberg Traurig, LLP, where he was a senior partner and head of the corporate and securities practice for more than eight years. He has been practicing law for more than 30 years.

“Trevor has served as outside legal counsel for years and we are pleased to announce that he is now a key member of our internal leadership team as we expand the global implementation of our 3D facial verification software,” said Kevin Alan Tussy, CEO of FaceTec.

Former FaceTec CLO Terry Coffing is retiring and joining the company’s board. The company also recently hired Scytales and AAMVA veteran Geoff Slagle as EVP of Digital Identity.

Pindrop gives CPO a name

Pindrop has announced the appointment of Neeraj Gupta as chief product officer. The news comes shortly after the company secured $100 million in debt funding from Hercules Capital to grow its customer base in deepfake detection and voice biometrics. Gupta, who previously held executive positions at Cisco, will lead Pindrop’s product strategy and innovation efforts, with the company looking to expand its voice security and authentication offerings under his leadership.

Prove doubles management hiring

Prove has expanded its leadership team with two new executives to support the company’s next phase of growth. Catherine Porter has been named chief business officer, previously at Meta, OpenTable, and LinkedIn. Eric Lesser joins as chief financial officer, with experience at Sealed, YipitData, and Payoneer. The appointments come as Prove looks to expand its identity tools to businesses.

Strata Identity Appoints Field Technical Director

Strata Identity has announced the hiring of Aldo Pietropaolo as field chief technology officer. According to the company, Pietropaolo will be responsible for developing Strata’s technical strategies and supporting customer implementation efforts. With a background in the identity and access management industry, he is expected to help drive the company’s growth and technological advancements.

“As Field Technical Director, he will play a key role in helping customers design, architect, and deploy customized solutions using Strata’s Maverics platform for application and identity modernization, as well as identity continuity,” said Eric Olden, CEO of Strata Identity.

New Vice President of Solutions Consulting at Proof

Proof has named Kelley Pidhirsky as vice president of solutions consulting. In her new role, Pidhirsky will oversee the consulting team and work with the company’s clients on their digital strategies.

She spent eight years at DocuSign and before that at Sungard Availability Services. The company says her extensive experience in solutions consulting will significantly contribute to Proof’s mission of improving customer engagement and digital transformation.

Fingerprint Cards adds vice president

Fingerprint Cards has named Gonzalo de la Vega vice president of the company. De la Vega will lead Fingerprints’ efforts to expand its market presence and promote standardized biometric methods and products. His appointment is part of Fingerprint Cards’ strategy to strengthen its leadership team and drive innovation in the biometrics industry.

“I am delighted to be joining Fingerprints in this exciting growth phase of their transformation plan. I have previously worked with Fingerprints during my time at Freevolt and have always seen their commitment to cutting-edge biometrics technologies and solutions, so working with them to strengthen their channel across sectors will be an exciting journey given their fantastic, leading product portfolio,” de la Vega said in a LinkedIn post.

Cryptomathic Hires Sales Director

Cryptomathic has appointed Edmundo Diaz as Sales Director for Southern Europe, Africa and Latin America.

Diaz has more than 20 years of experience in technology sales and business development, most recently serving in a similar role at cybersecurity firm Ascertia.

Chairs in Aisles and Identita

In a recent funding announcement, Aisles revealed that pop star Jesus Ortiz Paz has been tapped as chairman of the board.

Marlene Mizzi has been appointed non-executive chair of Malta’s national identity card issuer Identita. The Shift reports that her predecessor, Mario Galea, has been removed from the position by Prime Minister Robert Abela.

Mizzi is a former ambassador to Sweden and Norway, was named Member of the European Parliament of the Year in 2018 and has served as chair of two other organisations. She joins the beleaguered ID issuer amid allegations of bribery and deliberately issuing false IDs.

Board Appointments by SDO, Facephi, Okta and Plurilock

Secret Double Octopus has named Timothy Youngblood to its board of directors to support its expansion into new markets. Youngblood has served as CISO at global companies including T-Mobile, McDonald’s, Kimberly-Clark, and Dell Technologies.

Manuel Lanfossi has been appointed to the board of Facephi as a representative of Nice & Green. Lanfossi brings to the position twenty years of experience in senior financial positions. Nice & Green is the largest shareholder of Facephi.

Okta has named Genesys Cloud Services President and CEO Tony Bates to its board to help drive its global market growth strategy. His previous experience includes serving as CEO of Skype, president of GoPro and executive vice president of business development and evangelism at Microsoft.

Former White House Cyber ​​and National Security Advocate, Palantir Senior Advisor, and CIA Officer Bryan Cunningham Joins Plurilock Advisory Board. He played a significant role in formulating U.S. federal cybersecurity policy and will help lead Plurilock’s critical infrastructure protection efforts.

Intellicheck COO and CFO are leaving

Intellicheck Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Jeffrey Ishmael is leaving the company. Ishmael served as COO for a little over a year and CFO for a little over two years, and says in the announcement that he and the company have accomplished what they set out to do. Intellicheck plans a smooth transition to a new CFO after the search is underway.

“Jeff joined Intellicheck to drive the change needed to streamline our finance organization and build financial and analytics platforms that will support continued growth and success,” said CEO Bryan Lewis.

“I leave Intellicheck knowing that the company is in good hands and will be able to execute on the company’s strategy for accelerated growth and profits in the years to come,” comments Ishmael.
