Dallas Arcade Software Company Names Industry Veteran as New Sales Chief » Dallas Innovates

Mark Clare

Dallas-based Arcade software company that helps companies increase sales performance and productivity through gamification, appointed Mark Clare as head of sales.

Clare brings more than three decades of sales leadership experience to Arcade, which he said will help the company grow its share of the wireless retail sector and ultimately expand into specialty retail.

Arcade co-founder and CEO David Cherrie said he and his team were delighted to welcome Clare to Arcade, highlighting the new executive’s “extensive wireless industry experience and passion for training,” making him the ideal candidate to lead the company’s sales efforts.

“Clare brings a unique strategic vision that will be invaluable as we continue to scale and innovate in the wireless commerce space,” Cherrie said in a statement. “As a former wireless sales rep, I understand the challenges you face when you’re on the sales floor serving customers in a fast-paced environment. We designed the Arcade platform to meet the needs of retailers by leveraging reps’ passion for recognition and rewards, and using a fun and interactive gaming approach to drive learning and long-term motivation.”

He added that Clare will help them “take Arcade to the next level by expanding our reach in the wireless ecosystem.”

Arcade said Clare’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the company as it reaches a four-year milestone since launching for wireless retailers. As Arcade evolves its gamification platform, which includes advanced technical capabilities, Clare’s leadership will help drive growth and innovation, ensuring Arcade continues to meet the dynamic needs of its wireless and specialty retail teams, the company said.

Wireless Industry Veteran

For the past three years, Clare has served as Vice President of Partnerships and Channels at workplace learning solutions provider Upduo, overseeing channel distribution and partnership strategies. Clare will continue in an advisory role at Upduo.

Arcade said Clare has extensive knowledge of the ever-evolving wireless communications industry, having spent 27 years at AT&T in various leadership positions.

Previously, he led the North American Account Management team at Likewize (formerly Brightstar) and has served on several boards and professional committees, including serving on the CCA Events Committee, a board member of the Institute of Management Consultants (Georgia), and a member of the UX Advisory Board at the University of Richmond and George Washington University.

Gamification of training and sales

Arcade said co-founders Cherrie and James McLaren have created a platform that solves problems in online retail where it is difficult to train, engage and retain sales representatives.

Arcade said its “learn to earn” gaming approach equips employees with the skills and motivation they need to sell by injecting a fun element into sales training, while also reinforcing the often-overlooked element of execution through behavior change.

The Arcade platform helps retailers drive consistent behaviors across all stores by rewarding and recognizing employee achievements, and by motivating average-performing employees to achieve their highest performance.

Clare said he is grateful to join Arcade’s innovative team and support its mission to transform sales engagement in wireless retail.

“Under David’s leadership, they have built a powerful yet simple platform that offers a new way to inspire, develop and grow people — taking their performance to the next level,” Clare said in a statement. “The company’s commitment to transforming the way retail teams learn and are motivated aligns perfectly with my own desire — and professional experience — to help teams reach new heights.”
